The Law Society of BC is seeking a temporary, full-time Articled Student in our Practice Advice department for a 12-month term.
Articling is the last phase of formal legal education prior to call and admission to the Law Society of British Columbia. It provides the opportunity to balance out academic studies with practical work under the supervision and guidance of a principal.The Articled Student will be employed by the Law Society for a 12-month term, during which they will attend the Professional Legal Training Course for 10 weeks. To ensure exposure to different areas of practice, the Articled Student will need to spend 4 to 8 weeks of the articling term seconded to law firm to gain experience in a legal private practice setting.
While working at the Law Society, responsibilities will include some or all of the following:The salary for this position is $65,000.
