Downtown Vancouver articling offers to stay open to August 16 – Law firms with an office in the downtown core of Vancouver must keep open all offers of articling positions they make this year until 8 am, Friday, August 16. This timeline applies to offers firms make to second-year law students or first-year law students, but not offers to third-year law students or offers of summer positions (temporary articles). more

Benchers rescind rule 3.6-3, commentary [1] from the BC Code – On April 5, the Benchers rescinded rule 3.6-3, commentary [1] of the BC Code. The Benchers requested that the Ethics Committee consult the profession further about commentary [1] and, in light of the consultation, make a recommendation to the Benchers to restore commentary [1] in its current form, restore it in a modified form, or permanently eliminate it. more
