Expressing interest in a Law Society appointment
The Law Society of British Columbia appoints lawyers, judges and members of the public to boards, councils and committees of outside bodies. The appointments are made by the Society’s Benchers, Executive Committee or president, under authority conferred by the Legal Profession Act, (S.B.C 1998, c. 9.), the Law Society Rules (adopted by the Benchers under the authority of the Act), Bencher resolutions, and the governing statutes, constitutions and by-laws of those outside bodies. The appointments carry various statutory and common law responsibilities, powers and duties.

If you would like to be considered for an upcoming appointment, please provide:
- a letter explaining the reason for your interest and a brief statement of your related skills and experience
- a current resume
- the name of the organization(s) in which you are interested
