Citations
When a lawyer’s alleged behaviour is very serious, the Discipline Committee of the Law Society may decide to hold a formal discipline hearing.
The Committee first authorizes the Executive Director to issue a citation, which is a public document that lists the allegations against the lawyer.

Hearings
Discipline hearings are open to the public and are similar to court hearings. Instead of a judge and jury, a hearing panel acts as judges in the case.
