Rule of Law Matters podcast: What is the rule of law vs. rule by law?

A new episode of our Rule of Law Matters podcast is now available. In this episode, Dr. Catherine Dauvergne and host Jon Festinger, QC discuss why the rule of law can be difficult to teach and her concept of a "thin version" of the rule of law and a "thick version" that incorporates systemic barriers that block some from accessing justice. She also draws from real life events – 9/11, Brexit and the U.S. Presidential Election – where the rule of law has come into the fore. To listen to the Rule of Law Matters podcast, visit the Law Society’s website, or find the episode on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
