Vancouver – The Law Society has ordered a four-month suspension of former Port Moody lawyer Bradley Tak after a discipline hearing panel determined he committed professional misconduct. Tak did not provide, in a reasonable amount of time, bank documents and other information required by the Law Society in an investigation. He also failed to respond promptly to a subsequent meeting request letter. The term of suspension takes into account Tak’s discipline record for similar misconduct.  More information is available in the report.

Although Tak recently ceased being a lawyer due to non-payment of fees, the suspension remains on his discipline record and will be considered in assessing his character and fitness if he ever applies for reinstatement.

Maple Ridge lawyer Robert J. Gunnell will manage Tak’s practice so that his former clients will have continuous access to the legal services they require.

The Law Society of British Columbia regulates the more than 10,000 lawyers in the province, setting and enforcing standards of professional conduct that ensure the public is well-served by a competent, honourable legal profession.
