Notice to the Profession
November 21, 2017

Juricert subscribers are reminded that the Ministry of Finance has authorized a new version (Version 29) of the Property Transfer Tax (PTT) Return form (FIN 530). The new return is in effect November 27, 2017 and is now available for download from the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) website or through the Electronic Filing System (EFS) accessed on myLTSA. When preparing the PTT Return (Version 29), please ensure it is not electronically signed prior to submission on November 27, 2017.

Only the following versions of Adobe Acrobat can be used to complete Version 29 of the Property Transfer Tax Return:

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro/Standard DC 2015 Release (Classic)
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro/Standard DC Continuous Release
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro/Standard 2017

Customers who upgrade their Adobe Acrobat software, and who electronically sign from their workstation, will need to re-establish their Juricert Digital ID in the new version of Adobe Acrobat. To do so, you will need to have your Juricert certificate file (*.pfx file extension) and the password associated with that file. View digital certificate installation instructions.

If you are unable to locate your current Juricert certificate file or password, visit the Juricert website and click on Step 2, Request/Renew Digital Certificate.  If you do not have your Juricert ID, it can be retrieved at the login page. Any replacement certificate file should be downloaded and installed at least two days before you intend to use it to ensure it is activated in time to process the new PTT returns.  If you have end of the month closings, this means you should download and install a replacement certificate no later than November 28, 2017.
