The Code of Professional Conduct for British Columbia, section 3.7 (Withdrawal from representation), provides lawyers with guidance on their obligations under the Code through commentary, annotations and opinions.
In light of the outcome of the vote by the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers, lawyers may wish to review the Ethics Committee's opinion regarding withdrawal of legal aid and duty counsel services.
