The Law Society congratulates essay contest winners Vivian Osiek, a recent graduate of Windsor Secondary School in North Vancouver, and Bret J. Van Den Brink, a recent graduate of Unity Christian School in Chilliwack, for their exceptional essays on the rule of law. The co-winners were presented with their awards by Law Society President Nancy Merrill, QC, at the July 12 meeting of Law Society Benchers.

Entrants in this year’s essay contest were asked to explain the rule of law to a new classmate who had recently arrived in Canada. The two winning essays are available on the Law Society’s website.

The Law Society launched the essay contest in 2015 to enhance students’ knowledge of the importance of the rule of law and to encourage participation in civic life.
