The Law Society has approved in principle the overarching concept for a teaching law firm that would serve as an experiential learning centre for articling students and incubator for legal practitioners. Under the proposal by Access Pro Bono, Everyone Legal Clinic, a virtual public interest legal clinic, would train and support new law school graduates in developing public interest law practices to provide affordable legal services to underserved communities across the province.

The Law Society has committed to working with Access Pro Bono on the specific details and requirements of the proposal, including consideration of provisions that may need to be relaxed for final approval.

Through the innovation sandbox, the Law Society seeks to expand access to legal services by enabling innovative solutions that address areas of unmet legal needs, but which would otherwise contravene the Legal Profession Act, Law Society Rules and Code of Professional Conduct
