She has also advocated for the rights of minorities and underrepresented groups in her capacity as Governor of the Law Foundation of BC. Judicial Advisory Committees are independent bodies mandated to provide recommendations to the Minister of Justice on federal judicial appointments. The new Judicial Advisory Committees were the first to be reconstituted in accordance with the process announced by Minister Wilson-Raybould in October 2016. One of the changes was to appoint committees that fully reflect the diversity of Canada. Women now make up a majority of the new committees and minority groups have increased representation.
