Vancouver, December 10, 2015 – Today, BC Supreme Court Chief Justice Christopher Hinkson issued his decision in Trinity Western University (TWU) v. Law Society of BC.
TWU had sought a judicial review of the Law Society's October 2014 decision not to approve its proposed law school for the purpose of the Law Society's admission program. Chief Justice Hinkson heard the matter August 24 through 26, 2015. His 43-page decision is available through the Law Society’s website.
“This decision is important to the public and the legal profession,” said Law Society president Ken Walker, QC. “We will be reviewing the Reasons for Judgment carefully and consulting with our legal counsel regarding next steps.”
