Vancouver – The Law Society has accepted the resignation of Delta lawyer Leonard Thomas Denovan Hill.

Hill provided an undertaking to the Law Society’s Discipline Committee which was accepted on October 18, 2012. The undertaking states Hill will resign as a member of the Law Society and cannot apply for reinstatement until October 1, 2019.

Hill had been facing disciplinary proceedings but in accepting his undertaking to resign, the Discipline Committee agreed to withdraw the three citations against him. Hill did not admit any misconduct. The Law Society is satisfied the public is adequately protected by ensuring he is no longer able to practice law, and the allegations in the three citations will be considered if and when he applies for reinstatement.

The Law Society of British Columbia regulates the more than 10,000 lawyers in the province, setting and enforcing standards of professional conduct that ensure the public is well-served by a competent, honourable legal profession.
