The Law Society welcomes the appointment of Natasha Tony and Michèle Ross to its board of governors, known as Benchers. They have been selected by the provincial government to serve as appointed Benchers, effective March 14, 2022.

Appointed Benchers are members of the public selected for their expertise and perspectives from outside the legal profession. Six appointed Benchers and 25 elected lawyer Benchers across BC work together to ensure the public is well served by a competent and honourable legal profession.

Natasha Tony is the founder and principal of Elevate Inclusion Strategies. In addition to being a coach, consultant and commentator who brings a contemporary worldview to the concept and delivery of diversity, equity and inclusion, Natasha is a trained labour relations specialist and has helped a broad range of public and private sector clients build inclusive organizations.

Michèle Ross is a designated paralegal at Virgin Hickman who has focused her career in the area of family law. Michèle has extensive experience in the legal community, including serving on the board of the BC Paralegal Association, sitting on the British Columbia Supreme Court Civil and Family Rules Committee and volunteering on the Law Society’s Licensed Paralegal Task Force and Innovation Sandbox Advisory Group.
