Description
In this course, we discuss what factors define a cohabitational relationship, and why people enter into these rather than opting for marriage.
We thoroughly examine the legal consequences of unmarried cohabitation, compared to marriage, for both opposite-sex and same-sex couples.
We then expand on the property rights of unmarried cohabitants and how these differ by province.
Lastly, you will learn about the testate and intestate succession rights afforded to unmarried cohabitants and the handling of debt following separation.
