Description
This course addresses the three crises that are often provoked in the breakdown of a marriage: emotional, economic, and parenting. We begin with a focus on the responsibilities of legal advisers and courts regarding reconciliation, with a discussion on confidentiality during reconciliation. We then discuss the importance of mediation: what is it? How should it be approached? What are the goals of mediation? We examine possible impediments to settlements, and ways to circumvent these as they arise. Lastly, we guide you through each phase of the mediation process: setting the stage, defining the issues, processing the issues, and resolving the issues.
