Description
This course reviews typical procedures and legal precedents for engagement, marriage, void and voidable marriage, and annulment. We specifically examine marriage-related topics such as changing one’s surname, how marriage is defined, how polygamous marriages are treated in Canada, and what makes a marriage valid. We then transition to examining the end of marriage, with a focus on what makes a marriage void, and what circumstances may prevent a marriage being annulled.
