Description
This course provides a user with foundations in intellectual property law in Canada. The fundamental principles of intellectual property including patents, trademarks and copyrights are outlined, as well as, fundamental concepts such as infringement and validity, among other things. Some key cases which have impacted intellectual property law in Canada such as the Snow v. Eaton Centre Case, Apotex v. Sanofi, and Orkin v. Pestco among others. This is a great course for someone looking to work in intellectual property, either on the agency or litigation side. This is also a great course for lawyers looking to have a roadmap as to what intellectual property is and different subsets so they can properly refer clients to the appropriate IP lawyer.
