Description
COVID-19 has disrupted virtually every sector of the global economy. As businesses of all sizes are trying to adjust to a "new normal", lawyers will also be faced with a variety of new questions and issues on behalf of their clients, ranging from contractual disputes and denied insurance claims, to personal injury litigation and ways to reduce risk and liability as they resume operations.
This course will explore the new legal issues arising as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will learn how existing legal principles may be applied to COVID-19-related contractual claims, and tips for advising clients on how to address pandemic risks in contracts moving forward; how the insurance industry and regulators have responded to the billions of dollars in policy claims and losses, and what this will mean for you and your clients; and finally how COVID-19 may result in a wave of personal injury claims, and what your clients can do to protect themselves from liability.
