Description
This course serves as an introduction to the concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution. We begin with a thorough review of the history of ADR: when and why did it emerge of a movement? We then examine why the context of ADR matters. The form it takes is dependent on the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the case, and we review why each of these questions can alter ADR. Lastly, we consider the multidisciplinary nature of ADR, and how the practice is aided by considerations from many subject areas.
