Citations are authorized by the Law Society of BC's Discipline Committee and list allegations against a lawyer that will be considered at a discipline hearing. Please note that allegations in a citation are unproven until a discipline hearing panel has determined their validity.

Nature of conduct to be inquired into:

1.  Between approximately May 9, 2017 and December 21, 2017, in the course of representing your client RM in a matrimonial matter, you failed to promptly sign an appropriately drafted consent court order after the Court held in B.C. Supreme Court Action No. [number] that your client had agreed to a binding and enforceable settlement agreement on November 21, 2016, contrary to commentary 5 of rule 5.1-2 of the Code of Professional Conduct for British Columbia.

This conduct constitutes professional misconduct, pursuant to section 38(4) of the Legal Profession Act.

2.  Between approximately May 9, 2017 and July 25, 2017, in the course of representing your client RM in a matrimonial matter, you failed to promptly sign an appropriately drafted court order granted by the Honourable Mr. Justice Voith on May 9, 2017 in B.C. Supreme Court Action No. [number], contrary to commentary 5 of rule 5.1-2 of the Code of Professional Conduct for British Columbia.

This conduct constitutes professional misconduct, pursuant to section 38(4) of the Legal Profession Act.

3.  Between approximately May 9, 2017 and December 21, 2017, in the course of representing your client RM in a matrimonial matter, you failed to answer with reasonable promptness some or all of communications dated May 9, 16, 17, and 30, 2017, June 5, 16, 21, 22, and 26, 2017, and September 7 and 8, 2017 from opposing counsel that required a response, contrary to rule 7.2-5 of the Code of Professional Conduct for British Columbia.

This conduct constitutes professional misconduct, pursuant to section 38(4) of the Legal Profession Act.
