Citations are authorized by the Law Society of BC's Discipline Committee and list allegations against a lawyer that will be considered at a discipline hearing. Please note that allegations in a citation are unproven until a discipline hearing panel has determined their validity.

Nature of conduct to be inquired into:

1.  Between approximately November 1, 2016 and January 31, 2017, on behalf of your client B Ltd. and/or TL, you used your firm’s trust account to receive and disburse a total of $474,000.00 USD (the “Trust Matter”), and you did one or more of the following:

a.  failed to provide substantial or any legal services in connection with the Trust Matter;
b.  failed to make reasonable inquiries about the circumstances of the Trust Matter; and
c.  failed to make a record of the results of any inquiries made about the circumstances of the Trust Matter.

This conduct constitutes professional misconduct, pursuant to section 38(4) of the Legal Profession Act.
