Citations are authorized by the Law Society of BC's Discipline Committee and list allegations against a lawyer that will be considered at a discipline hearing. Please note that allegations in a citation are unproven until a discipline hearing panel has determined their validity.

Nature of conduct to be inquired into:

1.  On or about May 30, 2019, in the course of representing your client, RB, in family law proceedings at the Vancouver Courthouse, you attempted to have a settlement discussion with the opposing party, in the absence of opposing counsel, knowing that the opposing party was represented by counsel, and without the consent of opposing counsel, contrary to rule 7.2-6 of the Code of Professional Conduct for British Columbia and its commentary.

This conduct constitutes professional misconduct, pursuant to s. 38(4) of the Legal Profession Act.

2.  On or about May 30, 2019, in the course of representing your client, RB, in family law proceedings at the Vancouver Courthouse, you made a discourteous or uncivil comment to a family member of the opposing party, contrary to one or more of rules 2.2-1, 7.2-1 and 7.2-4 of the Code of Professional Conduct for British Columbia.

This conduct constitutes professional misconduct, pursuant to s. 38(4) of the Legal Profession Act.
