BACKGROUND
Donald Franklin Gurney was found to have committed professional misconduct (2017 LSBC 15) and was ordered suspended for six months (2017 LSBC 32). The hearing took a number of days. The Law Society prepared a Notice to Admit comprising 184 paragraphs of admissions sought. Gurney prepared a Notice to Admit comprising 24 paragraphs of admissions. The Law Society prepared a response to Gurney’ s Notice to Admit.
DETERMINATION ON COSTS
The panel set the costs payable by Gurney at $20,400 and disbursements at $4,314.98, for a total payable by Gurney to the Law Society of $24,714.98, payable by March 31, 2018.
