Unauthorized Practitioner

Canada Wide Immigration Services Inc.

Other names: Brar, Balwinder S.

On August 7, 2015, Madam Justice Dardi found Balwinder S. Brar and Canada Wide Immigration Services Inc., of Surrey, in contempt of a previous order of the court for offering to provide divorce and corporate services for a fee. The court fined Brar $2,000 and ordered him to pay special costs to the Law Society in the amount of $2,000. Brar consented to a broader injunction prohibiting him from engaging in the practice of law for a fee, from representing himself as a lawyer, and from commencing, prosecuting or defending proceedings in any court on behalf of others. The order does not prevent Brar from engaging in the lawful practice of an immigration consultant provided he remains a member in good standing of the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council.
