Pro Bono Law of BC (PBLBC) has pro bono opportunities for all lawyers — litigators, solicitors and corporate counsel, as well as retired and non-practising members. The many possibilities include participating in public legal education seminars, working on special projects for advocacy and community groups or representing individuals in court and tribunal proceedings. PBLBC wants to help bring lawyers together with the community organizations that need their services.
PBLBC seeks your input on how to make the pro bono experience as effective and meaningful as possible, for both lawyers and the people they help. Complete the survey now - prizes will be drawn on August 26, 2005.

Pacific Legal Technology Conference 2005
This is also a good time to register for the 2005 Pacific Legal Technology Conference. This day-long event takes place on Friday, October 14, 2005 at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Participants will learn about the effective use of technology in law firms and select from 25 hours of practical sessions targeted to lawyers, legal administrators, IT professionals, researchers, legal assistants and staff.
Among the many choices at this year's conference, is a mock trial - based on the Air India case — that showcases today's courtroom technologies. Between conference sessions, participants will also want to visit the expanded legal technology exhibit floor. Watch for details by mail or visit www.pacificlegaltech.com. Register by September 16 to receive an early-bird discount on your registration fee.
