Interim suspension

January 27, 2003

David Michael Ashton, of Victoria, has been suspended by three Benchers of the Law Society pursuant to s. 39 of the Legal Profession Act, pending the conclusion of the hearing of two citations against him. The custodian appointed for Mr. Ashton's practice during the interim suspension is Greg Anctil of Victoria.

A discipline hearing panel has found John Wilson Dobbin, of Vancouver, guilty of professional misconduct and has ordered that he be suspended through to March 27, 2003 and that he meet specified conditions prior to reinstatement. (At the time of the hearing panel order, Mr. Dobbin was already under suspension on an interim basis pending the outcome of his hearing.) The hearing panel accordingly ordered a suspension of 10 months to run from the commencement of his interim suspension on May 28, 2002 through March 27, 2003. A summary of this matter will be published in an upcoming Discipline Case Digest.
