The Jack Webster Award for Excellence in Legal Journalism — deadline extended to July 14
Since 1987, the Law Society of British Columbia has offered prizes for the best legal journalism stories of the year. Beginning in 2000, the Law Society's media award has been administered by the Jack Webster Foundation as the Jack Webster Award for Excellence in Legal Journalism, sponsored by the Law Society of British Columbia.
The award honours a journalist or a team of journalists for a story about legal issues, the administration of justice or the legal profession in BC. The winning entry is chosen by an independent committee appointed by the Jack Webster Foundation that judges each entry based on news value, accuracy, effectiveness and style in explaining legal issues to the public. The Law Society encourages you to submit your work for this award.
For more information and submission guidelines see the Jack Webster Foundation’s website www.jackwebster.com or the Law Society of BC’s website http://www.lawsociety.bc.ca/media/body_media_award.html.
