Claude H. Richmond is the former Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Kamloops constituency. During his 20 years in government, he held several Cabinet portfolios, including: Tourism, Expo 86, Social Services & Housing and Forestry, as well as Government House Leader. He was also the Speaker of the Legislature for one term.
An Appointed Bencher since 2010, Claude is currently Vice-Chair of the Discipline Committee and a member of the Rule of Law and Lawyer Independence Advisory Committee.
Before entering provincial politics, Claude was the General Manager of the NL Broadcasting Ltd. group of radio stations. He was elected to Kamloops City Council and served two terms as an Alderman. Just prior to the election of 2001, he was Managing Director of the Kamloops Airport Ltd.
His main hobby is music and he has been a member and Bandmaster of the Kamloops Rube Band for many years. He and his wife Patricia have three children and two grandchildren. They still live in Kamloops and enjoy camping throughout beautiful BC.
