New Bencher elected for Prince Rupert
Suzette Narbonne was elected the new Bencher for Prince Rupert County for 2009. Narbonne replaces Robert Punnett, QC, appointed to the Supreme Court of British Columbia June 19.
Called to the Bar in 1989 (Manitoba) and 1995 (BC), Narbonne is a sole practitioner in Prince Rupert and practises primarily in the areas of criminal law, family law and human rights. She has also served as a governor of the Law Foundation for the past six years.
An avid marathon runner, Narbonne has worked to promote fitness in her community. She coaches local runners and led a team of children and adults to the National Capital Marathon in Ottawa (Team Narbonne). The Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch, honoured Narbonne’s community spirit with the Community Service Award in 2008.
