Sarah Westwood was called to the Bar in 2002, and articled and practised as a corporate-commercial solicitor in Vancouver until moving to Smithers in 2004. She started her own firm in 2005, and has since practised largely as a barrister, including ad hoc Crown, criminal defence, family, employment and child protection cases.
A Bencher since June 2014, Sarah is currently Vice-chair of the Complainants' Review Committee and Lawyer Education Advisory Committee and a member of the Practice Standards Committee and Legal Aid Task Force.
In 2013, Sarah was elected as a representative to the Provincial Council of the CBA, BC Branch, and served on the Rural Lawyers Task Force in 2014. She also presented and spoke at the 2013 CBABC conference on issues facing rural practitioners.
