If you are a BC lawyer or articled student who has recently changed your address, telephone number, fax number or email address, you must advise the Law Society (Rules 2-9 to 2-11). You must also advise the Law Society of any address and contact information of all of your places of practice.

Every BC lawyer in private practice must pay the annual insurance fee unless exempt.

Non-practising lawyers retain the same rights as practising members, except the right to practise law or to act as notaries public or commissioners for taking affidavits.
