Brightspace is the online platform for the Law Society's professional development courses. Many of the self-paced professional development courses can be used toward your annual continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.

Accessing the courses

Practising lawyers can access the Law Society’s Brightspace in either of the following two ways:

  1. Go to Law Society Brightspace Log On and log in with the credentials (username and password) that were provided by email* as part of the roll-out of the Indigenous Intercultural course. (In your email program, search subject line: “Indigenous Intercultural course - Log In Credentials” or sender: LawSociety@lsbc.org.) Once you have logged in, you can change your password according to your preference.

    * All practising lawyers as of January 20, 2022 should have received their Brightspace log-in instructions on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Individuals who become practising lawyers after that time should expect to receive their log-in credentials via email within a month of obtaining or returning to practising status. If this does not occur, contact ProfessionalDevelopment@lsbc.org.
     
  2. Go to the Member Portal and log in with your usual username and password.
    Under the heading "Education," click the link “Law Society’s Brightspace.”
    In the box on the right with the heading "Accessing Law Society Courses on Brightspace," click the orange "Go to Brightspace" button.
