Our Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC) is seeking a temporary, full-time Junior Publications Assistant for a term contract ending December 31, 2025. The Publications Assistant, PLTC reports to the Director, PLTC, and is responsible for a broad range of editing and administrative support related to the Professional Legal Training Course materials and related publications.

The duties of the position include:
  • Preparing and uploading updated files for online course material and Practice Material. 
  • Using the file management system to update course material files.
  • Revising online and print material as directed. 
  • Liaising with printing companies about orders and deadlines.
  • Creating and maintaining tracking sheets to record changes in materials.
  • Supporting the PLTC team and other duties as assigned by the Legal Editor and the Deputy Director, PLTC.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary training in a relevant discipline (e.g., communications, publishing, administration) or equivalent experience in written communications and administration.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including: (a) strong English language spelling, grammar, and punctuation; and (b) superior attention to detail, with an ability to review content to ensure it is error-free. 
  • Technically savvy: (a) knowledge of editing and formatting in Microsoft, Word and Adobe; working knowledge of Excel; familiarity with HTML; and (b) experience working with educational platforms like Brightspace and ExamSoft (or a willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new software programs).

The salary range for this position is $55,388 to $60,204. We also offer an excellent benefits package that includes extended health benefits, a dental plan and more.
