About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Coordinator, Indigenous Initiatives to support the Director of Indigenous Initiatives. This role is central to advancing LSBC’s Indigenous Initiatives strategy and workplan, including community engagement, internal cultural competency training, Indigenous recruitment, and reconciliation reporting.
The Coordinator will play a key role in building respectful relationships with Indigenous governments, organizations, and communities, while ensuring that LSBC’s reconciliation commitments are tracked, reported, and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the workload of the Indigenous Initiatives department, including planning, organizing, and tracking external engagement activities.
- Follow up on action items and feedback from external meetings and gatherings.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous governments, organizations, and communities.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to support Indigenous employment and training strategies.
- Gather information on reconciliation activities across LSBC for reporting and communication purposes.
- Develop and maintain engagement tracking systems, departmental procedures, reports, and templates.
- Assist with special projects to advance continuous improvement of Indigenous Initiatives.
- Coordinate administrative tasks, including travel arrangements and logistics.
- Research issues requiring additional resources and provide recommendations to the Indigenous Initiatives Director.
- Respond to requests from LSBC departments for advice and support, in consultation with the Director.
- Provide executive support to the Director, Indigenous Initiatives, including scheduling, preparing reports, briefing notes, and presentations.
- Perform other duties as required by the Director of Indigenous Initiatives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated Indigenous cultural competency and awareness of Indigenous Nations and organizations in British Columbia.
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Detail-oriented and solutions-driven, with capacity for both day-to-day attention and long-term planning.
- Strong problem-solving skills, dedication to accuracy, and advanced oral and written communication abilities.
- Post-secondary education and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, including senior administrative assistant experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

The salary range for this position is $71,093 to $77,275.
