Summer 2026 PLTC Instructor

The Law Society of BC’s Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC) is seeking a lawyer with teaching experience to be an Instructor for the final PLTC session, beginning May 13, 2026. Due to immediate instructional needs, this role is being filled on an accelerated timeline.

The Instructor will be hired as an independent contractor and paid at a rate of between $26,000 - $30,000 for the contract to provide online instructional services on a full-time basis from May 13, 2026 – August 5, 2026. The services include:

  • Preparing for and presenting workshops on legal practice, procedure and skills for a PLTC class of up to 24 students;
  • Providing feedback to students on their exercises and assignments;
  • Grading and marking of assessments and exams as assigned; and
  • Reviewing failed assessments and exams.

The Instructor should have:

  • Minimum of five years of recent practice experience in BC
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • A desktop or laptop computer with a webcam and microphone (or headset), and reliable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth and connection speed (a minimum of 2-3 Mbps).
