The Law Society of BC’s Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC) is seeking a lawyer with teaching experience to be an Instructor for the Fall 2025 sessions of PLTC. The course will be offered fully online.
The Instructor will be hired as independent contractors and will be paid at a rate of between $26,000 - $30,000 for the contract to
provide instructional services on a full-time basis from September 3, 2025 - November 26, 2025. The services include:
- Preparing for and presenting workshops on legal practice, procedure and skills for a PLTC class of up to 24 students
- Providing feedback to students on their exercises and assignments;
- Grading and marking of assessments and exams as assigned; and
- Reviewing failed assessments and exams.
The Instructors should have:
- Minimum of five years of recent practice experience in BC
- Relevant teaching experience
- A desktop or laptop computer with a webcam and microphone (or headset), and reliable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth and connection speed (a minimum of 2-3 Mbps).
