Across BC, access to justice is being challenged by economic pressures and social inequities, especially for those who are facing complex or cumulative legal problems. This year’s theme for Access to Justice Week is “From Challenges to Possibilities: Reimagining Access to Justice,” which will examine how these difficulties can offer opportunities to transform what justice looks like. Speakers will explore how research, practice and innovation work together to better understand the outcomes of our legal system and to identify models that can more effectively support those in need.
The five-day event, organized annually by Access to Justice BC, is an opportunity for law students, educators, community advocates and the legal profession to engage in meaningful dialogue about how to improve the justice system and how to integrate access to justice efforts into our daily work.
