Surrey lawyer Michael Andrew Christ has admitted to professional misconduct and agreed to a one-month suspension beginning September 1, 2025.
In a consent agreement, Christ admitted that between 2021 and 2022 he authorized the improper withdrawal of client funds from the law firm’s trust account in eight instances when the firm was not entitled to the funds and had not delivered a bill to the clients.
In accepting the consent agreement, the Chair of the Discipline Committee considered an Agreed Statement of Facts and a letter from Christ containing his admissions. It also considered that the former bookkeeper at the law firm took the initiative to clear out the client trust funds, and that Christ’s misconduct was unintentional.
