Vancouver lawyer Gary (Kin Ip) Lo suspended for four months

Vancouver lawyer Gary (Kin Ip) Lo has admitted to professional misconduct and agreed to a four-month suspension, effective November 12, 2025.

In a consent agreement, Lo admitted that between 2015 and 2022, while acting for multiple clients, he provided legal services and permitted the use of his firm’s trust account, in circumstances where he failed to make reasonable inquiries regarding the clients’ identities, source of funds, and failed to make a record of the inquiries. He also failed to comply with client identification and verification requirements in relation to some of those clients.

In accepting the agreement, the Chair of the Discipline Committee considered an Agreed Statement of Facts, a letter to the Chair of Discipline and his professional conduct record.
