Register now: CBABC’s legal conference on independence and regulation

Registration is open for CBABC’s legal conference “Through the Looking Glass: Independence & Regulation in BC Today,” taking place on April 12, 2024 in Vancouver. The half- day event offers a unique opportunity to engage with members of the bench, bar and government on matters of judicial and lawyer independence.

The conference will examine recent public criticisms of lawyers and judges and consider topics such as the ethical role of the lawyer when it comes to protecting their clients’ interests, how judges approach difficult cases and unpopular decisions, and how the government’s proposed regulatory framework might impact the delivery of legal services, lawyers’ self-regulation and independence of the bar.
