Victoria lawyer Colin Campbell Robinson has been suspended for two weeks and ordered to pay $1,000 in costs for professional misconduct.
In a joint submission to a Law Society hearing panel, Robinson admitted that between 2020 and 2021 he used his firm’s trust account to receive $45,000 and disburse $36,708 in funds to a client and failed to provide legal services directly related to the funds. In addition, Robinson failed to make reasonable inquiries about the reason for the funds to go through his firm’s trust account and failed to record information about the source of funds.
In accepting the joint submission, the hearing panel took into consideration an Agreed Statement of Facts and Robinson’s admission of professional misconduct.
Robinson’s suspension commences on July 20, 2026.
